Jörmungandr meaning "huge monster" was the middle child of Loki and the giantess Angrboða. It grew so large that it surrounded the Earth and grasps its own tail. Jormungandr was associated with the Ouroboros which is used as a symbol for the eternal cycle of life. He surrounds the Yggdrasil, under which are Odin's two wolves. On the other side of the pendant is a five-pointed star decorated with Celtic knots, meaning defense and eternity.
